Chennai Super Kings (CSK), looking for their second win in IPL 2025 are chasing 167 to win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana stadium in Lucknow.
CSK have lost their previous five matches on the bounce and need to win this match to stay relevant in the competition. CSK's batting has been a major talking point throughout the season so far.
However, in this particular game, CSK are looking good with the bat. The inclusion of Shaikh Rasheed made an immediate impact. He scored 27 runs off 19 balls and along with Rachin Ravindra (24 runs off 12 balls) added 52 runs for the first wicket.
Rasheed played some lovely shots that impressed the television commentators. They certainly raised him for the shots he played. The right-hander struck six fours in his innings of 27 runs off 19 balls.

However, Rasheed's innings was cut short by Avesh Khan who came into bowl the fifth over. He bowled a delivery touch wide from the batters reach. It was also a slower delivery which Shaikh Rasheed failed to read. In the end, he skied it and was caught by Nicholas Pooran.
After Rasheed's dismissal, Rahul Tripathi walked out to bat. He took a brilliant catch to dismiss Aiden Markram in the LSG innings. He rode his luck early on as well as he was dropped by Abdul Samad. Meanwhile, in the eighth over of the CSK innings, Aiden Markram dismissed Rachin Ravindra (37 runs off 22 balls) to give the Super Giants a crucial breakthrough. Ravi Bishnoi dismissed Rahul Tripathi (9 runs off 10 balls) in the ninth over. Shivam Dube walked out as the Impact Sub at number five for CSK.
The LSG pacers have gone for runs while the run-scoring has been stifled by the spinners. Shardul Thakur went for 24 runs off his two overs. Akash Deep went for 13 runs off his solitary over. Avesh Khan picked up the wicket of Rasheed in his first over. Meanwhile, Rathi and Bishnoi have controlled the scoring rate. Markram's dismissal of Rachin was a key moment in the first 10 overs.
Earlier in the game, Rishabh Pant's maiden fifty in IPL 2025 helped the Lucknow Super Giants score 166 in their 20 overs. The pitch showed signs of slowing down pretty early in the innings. Mitchell Marsh (30 runs off 22 balls), Ayush Badoni (22 runs off 17 balls) and Abdul Samad (20 runs off 11 balls) played key knocks and helped the Super Giants get to a total above 160.
