The Eden Gardens in Kolkata is one of the oldest and largest cricket grounds in India. It was built in 1864. The stadium can seat around 68,000 spectators and is run by the Cricket Association of Bengal. It is also the home ground of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. Over the years, the stands, pavilions and the club house have been upgraded but the ground still carries its old charm.

The stadium has hosted many famous matches. The first Test here was played in 1934, the first ODI in 1987 and the first T20 international in 2011. Cricket is celebrated like a festival and cheers here have greeted greats like Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli.

Eden Gardens has also been the stage for world events. It hosted the 1987 World Cup final and later the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup final, where the West Indies lifted the trophy.
