Gujarat Titans (GT) has been handed a significant blow. New Zealand cricketer Glenn Phillips has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) with a suspected groin injury. As per the latest reports, the Kiwi star is flying off home. Now the Titans will have to look for a quick replacement for their injured superstar.
Glenn Phillips was picked by the Titans in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction at his base price of 2 crore. However, the New Zealand cricketer hasn't featured in any game for the Shubman Gill-led side in this edition of the IPL.

Glenn Phillips sustain injury, ruled out of IPL 2025
In GT's game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 06, Glenn Phillips came to the field as a substitute fielder. He picked up an injury while fielding a single run off Ishan Kishan and had to depart the field immediately.
As for the 28-year-old, Phillips lighted up the ICC Champions Trophy with his immaculate fielding and athleticism. He and his side lost the finals to India by 4 wickets in Dubai.
"Glenn Phillips has returned to New Zealand following a groin injury he sustained during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 6. Gujarat Titans wish Glenn a speedy recovery," Gujarat Titans said in a statement.
Glenn Phillips has now become the second player to return home. The first was Kagiso Rabada, who returned home to South Africa for a personal emergency.

GT has played 5 matches, where they have managed 4 wins.
