It has been a long time since Virat Kohli won his maiden Man of the Match Trophy in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Now in 2025, Virat Kohli, the superstar for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), was spotted reacting and having a laugh after watching his old Man of the Match award.
Virat Kohli received his first Man of the Match award in IPL back in 2011 after scoring 56 runs from 38 balls as he helped his side secure a win over Delhi Capitals (erstwhile Delhi Daredevils).

However, while watching the video, Virat Kohli credited the Universe Boss, Chris Gayle. He claimed that he donned the role of an aggressor so that Gayle could play his natural game.
"To be honest, I did not plan to bat like that. But when I started to hit the ball well, I took charge from Chris. That was the plan in the middle so that he could play himself in, and I could go for my shots because I was hitting it well," Kohli said '18 Calling 18' on JioHotstar.
"I don't even know what I said. You guys brought it here from somewhere. Chris could play himself in? Waah! Galat fehmi dekh lo (Look at the misunderstanding)! Since the social media boom, fans have started analysing players' quotes, which has become way too twisted," Kohli added.
Coming to IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is placed fourth in the IPL 2025 Points Table. The Rajat Patidar-led side has notched up 6 points from 5 games, winning 3 and losing 2 matches.
