Legendary fast bowler James Anderson is set to receive a Knighthood in recognition of being England's leading wicket-taker in Test cricket and also for his record-breaking 21-year international career. The 42-year-old was named in the resignation honors list of the former UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.

Anderson ended his glittering international career last year with an England record of 704 Test wickets in 188 Test matches. The 42-year-old's Test wickets are the most ever by a specialized pacer in Test matches. His 188 Tests are also the second most by a player after Sachin Tendulkar's 200 Test matches. Anderson played his last Test match against West Indies at Lord's in July 2024, having made his debut in 2003 against Zimbabwe in May at the same venue.

To prolong his Test career, Anderson quit playing ODIs in 2015. Despite not playing a 50-over match for over a decade, he still holds a record for the Country's highest-ever ODI wicket-taker, with 269 wickets to his name. Anderson also took 18 wickets in T20Is and finished his international career with a staggering 991 wickets.
